Morning,
When flying with SD and a passenger, I often hand the tablet to my passenger, however this sometimes results in accidental screen touches. Would it be possible to lock the screen or otherwise disable the touch sensor without turning the screen itself off? Maybe a long press on the SkyDemon logo to lock/unlock?
On a related note, to extend battery life, would it be possible to auto-dim the screen after 30 seconds but to restore full brightness with a single touch, even when in "locked" mode?
Cheers,

I'd love to see something like this too. I have my Nexus 7 in a case, and I tuck the screen protection bit of the case underneath the plog on my kneeboard.
If I then fold the Nexus out of the way to write on the plog, I sometimes get 'random' touches on the screen, and I think I've even managed to quit SkyDemon completely doing this.
The ability to lock the touch part of the screen save for a small area to unlock it again would be very useful.
Any chance this could be included?
Andy

Hmm, can't work out why my whole post appears as a quote of the original. I wrote the bit that starts "I'd love to see..."

I would not want the screen to dim automatically. I have my iPad connected to a 12V power outlet, and it is important to me that the screen remain bright and easily readable all the time.

There could be an option: Auto dim when running on batteries after xx seconds.

I have posted a request motivated by some of the same reasons given, and with a number of related implementation suggestions:
